Job Advert: Account & Finance Supervisor
Location: Lagos
Job Objective:
To oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting,
compliance with accounting standards, and efficient management of financial resources. The
supervisor will coordinate the preparation of financial statements, manage budgeting and
forecasting processes, and support decision-making through accurate financial analysis. The
role focuses on maintaining financial accuracy, managing cash flow, and ensuring timely
reporting of financial information.
Responsibilities:
-Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts
receivable, and general ledger entries.
-Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in
accordance with accounting standards.
-Monitor the company’s cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for
operational activities.
-Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, ensuring alignment
with organizational goals.
-Conduct variance analysis between actual results and budgeted figures, providing
insights to management.
-Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the timely filing of tax returns
and remittances.
-Review and verify the accuracy of financial transactions, ensuring proper
documentation and approval processes.
-Prepare and maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including depreciation
schedules.
-Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and
internal controls.
-Coordinate external audits and ensure timely provision of necessary documentation.
-Provide financial reports and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
-Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring adherence to financial
processes and best practices.
-Liaise with banks, regulatory bodies, and other financial institutions for banking
activities and regulatory compliance.
-Support in the development of financial models to assess profitability and financial
performance.
Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably within the
downstream oil and gas sector.
-Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
-Proven experience in managing accounting operations and financial analysis.
-Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
-Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office, and financial management tools.
-Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
